Recently, the General Office of Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China launched a “Notice on the Construction of Ideological and Political Theory Course Integration Community among Universities, Middle Schools, and Primary Schools”, and announced the list of ideological and political theory course integration communities among universities, middle schools, and primary schools supported by the Ministry of Education. The ideological and political theory course integration community among universities, middle schools, and primary schools initiated by Professor Wang Shunhong, Secretary of the University CPC Committee, has been successfully approved as the only community in Sichuan Province.
It’s reported that the Ministry of Education only supported and approved one ideological and political theory course integration community among universities, middle schools, and primary schools in each province, municipality directly under the Central Government, and autonomous region, which is guided by the provincial educational administrative department and implemented by the initiating university. Besides, the Ministry of Education provides special support for the construction of the ideological and political theory course integration community among universities, middle schools, and primary schools. It aims at sufficiently stimulating the enthusiasm of various regions, and navigating the situation judiciously according to circumstances and adapting to local conditions to build a batch of innovative and research-oriented platforms combining theory and practice and supply work platforms, practical experience, theoretical support, and decision consultation for promoting the theoretical research and practical exploration of the ideological and political theory course integration among universities, middle schools, and primary schools nationwide.
The overall implementation of the ideological and political theory course integration community among universities, middle schools, and primary schools is a significant project, which is related to the implementation of the University’s fundamental task of cultivating virtuous future generations, the new talents cultivation in the era of national rejuvenation, and successors cultivation of the cause of the Communist Party and China. The University CPC Committee attaches great importance to the ideological and political theory course integration among universities, middle schools, and primary schools as well as creates sound conditions, builds platforms, and takes diverse measures to deeply promote the integration. Additionally, the University CPC Committee has vigorously propelled the founding of the first ideological and political education union among universities, middle schools, and primary schools in the province and conducted multiple demonstrations of the same ideological and political course in universities, middle schools, and primary schools as well as published a series books titled “Special Teaching Design for Ideological and Political Theory Course Integration among Universities, Middle schools, and Primary Schools”, which have achieved fruitful and significant results. This time, as the only initiating university in Sichuan Province, Southwest Jiaotong University has successfully applied for and obtained approval to establish an ideological and political theory course integration community among universities, middle schools, and primary schools, marking a new stage in the University’s construction in this respect. Furthermore, Southwest Jiaotong University will strictly comply with the requirements of the Ministry of Education. Under the guidance of the Education Working Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, the Department of Education of Sichuan Province, and the leadership of the University CPC Committee, the University will combine with the situation in Sichuan Province to navigate the situation judiciously according to circumstances and adapting to local conditions, integrating forces for joint contribution, shared benefits, and mutual improvement. In this way, Southwest Jiaotong University strives to form a set of working mechanisms, incubate a batch of brand activities, create an array of model ‘golden courses’, produce a series of high-quality course resources, achieve a large number of high-level teaching and researching outcomes, provide a batch of high-quality think tank advisory reports, and cultivate a excellent faculty. Ultimately, Southwest Jiaotong University hopes to spread the voice of Sichuan, manifest Sichuan’s characteristics, and form a Sichuan brand, building the community into an innovative, research-oriented, and demonstrative community that drives the education of whole Sichuan Province, covers western China, and has national first-class influence.
