From July 5 to July 6, 2022, the final of the 6th Sichuan Province Teaching Competition for Young Universities Teachers, sponsored by Sichuan Federation of Trade Unions, Sichuan Provincial Education Working Committee, and Provincial Department of Education, and hosted by Sichuan Normal University was held in Sichuan Normal University. Ninety-three teachers from 38 universities across the province won from more than 20,000 young teachers from 126 universities. Contestants were divided into five groups to compete teaching skills in the final. After preliminary, semi-finals, and final, faculty member Li Yuanbo bulldozed his way to the second prize with the third place in the ideological and political course group, realizing a new breakthrough in the performance of our School for this competition.
In the competition, Mr. Li Yuanbo closely combined the objectives, nature, content, and characteristics of Basic Principles of Marxism course, closely focused on the selection theme, coupled with the help of great achievements and Mega sci-tech projects of China, such as ‘Tiangong Class’ and shield machine, elaborating the process of interaction between the practice subject and object by the aid of intermediary, interpreting emphatically subject’s spiritual and natural abilities as well as the object’s directive property and university, and emphasizing the necessity of breaking anxiety with action. Mr. Li Yuanbo’s exquisite teaching design, demonstration, and interpretation in simple terms, as well as creative use of teaching props, won unanimous praise from judges.
The Sichuan Province Teaching Competition for Young Universities Teachers is the largest and highest-level teaching competition in Sichuan Province, with the largest number of participating teachers. The School attached great importance to this competition, not only building a platform to provide full support to guarantee the participation of Mr. Li Yuanbo, but also setting up an expert guidance team, headed by Dean Qiu Haiping, Executive Dean Tian Yongxiu, and Party Secretary Liao Jun, to participate in the whole process and guide the preparation work comprehensively. The good results of this competition also embodied the efforts of the expert team.
Teaching competitions are important ways to help young teachers grow.
