To all faculty members and students,
This is to inform you that we are holding Celebrating the Centenary of the Communist Party of China contribution soliciting and subsequent funding activities which are open to the whole faculty members and students. These activities are held for the purpose of celebrating the centenary of the Communist Party of China, summarizing and reviewing China's revolutions', construction's and reforms' glorious history and valuable experience led by the CPC. Meanwhile, they are designed to further promote the study and research on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and the spirit of 19th CPC National Congress, the Second, the Third, the Fourth and the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee.
Ⅰ. Topic for contribution soliciting: The CPC and the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation
The title may be named by yourself, and academic works, academic papers, and comments on current affairs are desired with topics including but not limited to the followings:
1. Study on the Party's history, new China's history, reform and opening-up history, and socialist development history
2. Study on the CPC's construction
3. Study on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era
4. Study on adapting Marxism to the Chinese context
5. Study on the fundamental principles of Marxism
6. Study on ideological and political theoretical course teaching and reform
7. Ethos and ideological and political education
Ⅱ. Contribution categories and subsequent funding methods
After the contributions are adopted, contributors will be funded by subsequent funding projects. It is proposed to invest RMB 1 million to fund 100 projects. Specific contribution categories and methods are as follows.
1. Monograph publishing projects. 5 projects are proposed to be funded, and the amount of funds for each project will be less than RMB 80,000. Project completion requirements: (1). Publishing a monograph (People's Publishing House, China Social Sciences Press, The Commercial Press, Zhonghua Book Company, Social Sciences Academic Press, History of the Communist Party of China Press, Central Party Literature Press, Shanghai SDX Joint Publishing Company, and Higher Education Press only); (2). Attending high-level academic conferences and giving a paper exchange report no less than twice.
2. High-level academic paper research projects. 45 projects are proposed to be funded, and the amount of funds for each project will not exceed RMB 10,000. Project completion requirements: (1). Publishing no fewer than one high-level academic paper on CSSCI source journals, Guangming Daily's and People's Daily's theory columns, or no less than one high-level academic paper on Chinese core journals and CSSCI extended version source journals, and one on other newspapers, journals or online platforms. (2). Attending high-level academic conferences and giving a paper exchange report no less than once.
3. Newspaper and internet article research projects. 50 projects are proposed to be funded, and the amount of funds for each project will be no more than RMB 3,000. Project completion requirements: (1). Publishing no fewer than one theoretical article on people.cn, Xinhuanet, GMW.cn, Qiushi Online, Party Construction Online and other websites, or no less than one on China's newspapers of various industries, and provincial level Party newspapers and their online editions; (2). Attending high-level academic conferences no less than once.
Ⅲ. Contribution soliciting and funding requirements
1. Each applicant can only apply for one project, and the achievement shall be completed but has not been published yet. Any book written shall satisfy the publishing requirements of complete, clear, and definite. Any paper containing title, abstract, keywords, text and references shall be typeset according to the format requirements of the journal, newspaper or online platform to be submitted. If the achievement has been adopted, priority funding will be given to it.
2. Achievements that have been funded by Measures for the School of Marxism of Southwest Jiaotong University Academic Works Publication Funding (For Trial Implementation) and the School of Marxism Scientific Research Level Improvement Plan (For Trial Implementation), and have not yet completed will not be funded this time.
3. The contribution soliciting is divided into 2 batches: The first contributions' deadline is November 30, 2020, and the second contributions' deadline is March 5, 2021.
4. Please fill in the Application Form for Subsequent Funding Projects for Celebrating the Centenary of the Communist Party of China (see Attachment).
5. Anonymous contribution. Applicant's name and related information must not appear in books and papers. Applicant's name, contact information, and other information can be filled in the application form.
6. Please submit paper copies of your books or papers, as well as the Application Form for Subsequent Funding Projects for Celebrating the Centenary of the Communist Party of China to Prof. Chen Fan in the office, package the electronic version into a file and send it to 287094781@qq.com.
Ⅳ. Review and publicity
The School will organize experts to conduct a preliminary review and formal review on contributions and applications. Review results will be published on the bulletin board in the school office.
Ⅴ. Funds usage and project completion
1. Any project that has obtained initiation and approval shall use 50% of the funds in advance within this year (subject to the deadline announced by the University's Office of Budget and Finance). Remaining funds for the project can only be used after the completion requirements are met.
2. When publishing any funded achievement, signature unit of the first author School of Marxism of Southwest Jiaotong University shall be marked in a prominent position. Any applicant who has attended an academic conference is supposed to write a piece of news with both pictures and texts to report on the School's homepage.
3. The project completion deadline is December 31, 2021. If the completion requirements are not met by then, the project will be canceled, and the applicant shall not be allowed to apply for the School's any funded project in the following 3 years.
